Discover the latest Roomex features: Take control, save money, and go green! At Roomex, we’re always looking for ways to make continuous improvements to our platform to ensure that our users have the best and most seamless experience from browsing to booking.  We’re thrilled to share some exciting updates that are set to enhance your experience even further. Whether you’re focused on gaining more control over your bookings, taking action to reduce your carbon footprint, or finding smarter ways to save on travel, we’ve got you covered. Check out our latest feature updates below:   Introducing the Recent Searches functionality for faster and efficient booking  The ‘Recent Searches’ feature allows users to quickly select from previous search results directly from the Home page, just below the location search input fields. This means you can easily access your most recent searches, whether it’s for a location, hotel, check-in/check-out dates, or room and guest numbers – without re-entering your criteria. With the capability to store up to four previous searches, this time-saving feature means you can keep all relevant details intact. This eliminates the need to manually re-enter information to create a more seamless booking experience – especially when searching for repeat destinations or travel plans.   New approvals process – more control, less stress! Gaining more control over your team’s travel and accommodation bookings just got easier with our newly launched Approvals Feature. This powerful tool is designed to provide you with greater oversight and peace of mind, ensuring that every booking is carefully reviewed and approved before it’s confirmed. Here’s how it works:  Approval requests: When a user selects a property, they’ll now see an ‘Approval Request’ page instead of going straight to the ‘Complete Booking’ page. After confirming their details, they can click ‘Request Approval,’ which sends a booking quote to the approver. Just a quick note: the reservation isn’t held at this stage, so prices and availability may change. Approver notifications: The designated approver will receive an email with all the booking details, including who made the request. They can approve or decline the booking directly from the email or through the ‘Bookings’ tab on the Roomex platform. Once approved, the booking is completed and confirmed with the hotel.  So, why implement an approvals process? Here’s why:  Cost control: Keep accommodation expenses under control.  Policy compliance: Ensure every booking meets your company’s travel policies.  Enhanced risk management: Reduce risks by vetting accommodation options.  Improved accountability: Maintain a clear audit trail for bookings and approvals.  With this feature, managing bookings has never been easier or more transparent!   Going green with Carbon Reporting  We recently announced the introduction of Carbon Reporting on the Roomex platform – a feature that allows you to make more sustainable travel decisions. The main benefits include being able to track the carbon footprint of your bookings and align your travel practices with your company’s sustainability goals.  For a deeper dive into how Carbon Reporting works, you can check out our detailed blog post here. Save big and travel smart with Split Ticketing  Looking to save on train travel? We’ve got you covered! Our partnership with Trainline Partner Solutions (The Trainline) and UK-based technology provider, Vibe, has brought Split Ticketing to the Roomex platform, making it easier than ever to cut down on travel costs.  Here’s the scoop:  How it works: Split Ticketing breaks down your train journey into multiple tickets, potentially saving you money without requiring you to switch trains. Thanks to Vibe’s integration with The Trainline, you can now access these savings directly through Roomex.  Why you’ll love it: It’s a simple, efficient way to reduce your travel expenses. Just book your train travel through Roomex, and we’ll handle the rest Plus! Charlie Healy x Sustainable Quake Podcast

Roomex Director of Product, Charlie Healy, talks sustainability and business travel on the Sustainable Quake podcast  Our very own Charlie Healy, Director of Product at Roomex, was recently featured on the Sustainable Quake Podcast in collaboration with our partners at SQUAKE. In the episode titled “CPO 2 CPO: CO₂ with Charlie Healey, Roomex”, Charlie takes a deep dive into the evolving landscape of workforce travel and sustainability, offering a glimpse into the future of how companies can travel smarter and greener. Here’s what he covered:  The Roomex approach to sustainability Charlie discusses how Roomex has made sustainability a crucial focus of its product development strategy. From the introduction of the Carbon Reporting feature, to insights into how travel choices impact a company’s carbon footprint, Roomex is at the forefront of helping clients that use the platform make better-informed, eco-conscious decisions. Charlie explains how legislation around carbon reporting is influencing the way Roomex develops new features, ensuring that sustainability is not just a tick-box exercise, but a fully integrated part of the product roadmap.  Hotel industry trends and challenges As part of his role at Roomex, Charlie is constantly monitoring trends in the hotel and travel industry. In the podcast, he outlines some of the biggest challenges and opportunities he’s currently seeing, particularly around sustainability in hotel accommodations. With an increasing focus on carbon emissions and environmentally friendly practices, Roomex is working to connect businesses with sustainable accommodation options that don’t compromise on convenience or cost.  Revenue and product development One of the more thought-provoking topics Charlie touches on is his alternative perspective on why focusing too much on revenue might actually be a distraction for product development. In this segment, Charlie explains that the most successful products are often those that prioritise customer experience and long-term value over short-term financial gains. By focusing on the users end goal and needs, Roomex continues to deliver solutions that streamline travel management and drive efficiency.  The future of sustainability in corporate travel Looking ahead, Charlie offers his perspective on what the next 3 to 5 years might hold for workforce travel. With sustainability becoming a non-negotiable factor for many companies, the travel industry is being pushed to innovate. Roomex is already developing tools to help businesses achieve their sustainability goals as touched on upon through the introduction of carbon tracking or better booking options that reduce the environmental impact of business travel.  Why you should tune in If you’re interested in learning more about how sustainability is shaping the future of workforce travel, this episode is a must listen. Charlie’s deep knowledge of both product development and sustainability offers valuable insights for anyone involved in managing corporate travel or developing business products with a sustainability focus.   Listen to the full podcast episode here: CPO 2 CPO: CO₂ with Charlie Healey, Roomex  Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Roomex!
