Workforce travel and expense management platform Roomex has partnered with Trainline, the UK’s leading independent retailer of train tickets in a further step toward simplifying travel and eliminating expense management for companies.

Roomex and Trainline users now have access to their Trainline trip and booking data within their Roomex platform, giving them a more complete view of their total travel spend.

Mobile workforces travel primarily by train or car, making this partnership even more beneficial for both Trainline and Roomex customers.

Working with over 270 train and coach companies in 45 counties, they offer 293 million fare and journey combinations. Founded in 1999, the company has sold to over 3 million travellers, processed more than 14 million transitions, and have over 8.4 million users.

The goal of this partnership is to create simplicity in travel management, and not force travel managers to learn new booking practices. Roomex will house customers train travel analytics and individual booking records, giving travel managers complete oversight of rail and accommodation spend on one platform while allowing them to book through a custom Trainline platform that they are used to using.

Roomex customers currently avail of consolidated invoicing, meaning rather than using a credit card for every purchase they receive a statement breaking down all spend in the platform. This feature will expand with the partnership and customers train spend will appear alongside their accommodation spend in the consolidated invoice.

Roomex Analytics offers best in class reporting for travel managers, and with this integration, they will be able to get the full picture of their travel spend, helping them make cost-saving decisions backed by data.

Travel managers can gain additional savings by reviewing the cheapest time to book accommodation and trains through their data in Roomex. They also will have full oversight into the way their teams are booking train travel, say with a return trip or two one-way journeys.
