A proud milestone for our team and recognition of our commitment to making workforce travel simpler.
We’re delighted to share that Roomex has been named a finalist in the Business Travel Partner of the Year – Small TMC category at the Business Travel Awards Europe 2026.
Organised by The BTN Group, the awards celebrate the organisations, technologies and partnerships shaping the future of managed business travel across Europe. This year’s finalists were selected by an independent judging panel of 35 travel managers and consultants, with winners due to be announced on 30 September 2026 at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House.
For us, being shortlisted is an achievement in itself. It’s recognition of the work our team has put into building a travel platform that solves one of the biggest operational challenges businesses face: managing workforce travel.
The Business Travel Partner of the Year – Small TMC category recognises travel management companies headquartered in Europe that have demonstrated outstanding performance over the past 12 months.
Judges assess entrants on several areas, including:
- Leadership within the business travel industry
- Innovation and product development
- Customer partnership
- Service delivery
- Measurable value delivered to clients
It’s about much more than booking travel. The category recognises businesses that are actively helping organisations improve the way they manage corporate travel.
To be shortlisted alongside respected travel management companies from across Europe is something we’re incredibly proud of.
Traditional business travel and workforce travel have very different requirements.
Many travel programmes are designed around office-based employees travelling occasionally for meetings or conferences.
Our customers operate differently.
They move engineers, surveyors, construction crews, facilities teams and field workers every day.
- Projects start at short notice
- Crew sizes change overnight
Accommodation needs to be close to site – not simply the cheapest room available.
Travel policies have to balance cost, wellbeing, compliance and sustainability, often across multiple live projects at once.
Those challenges are exactly why Roomex exists.
Rather than adapting consumer booking tools for workforce travel, we’ve built a platform specifically for businesses managing mobile teams.
Every feature we’ve launched has come from listening to customers.
Operations teams told us they were spending too much time chasing bookings.
Procurement teams wanted greater visibility over travel spend.
Finance teams needed simpler expense management.
Sustainability teams required better carbon reporting.
So we built solutions around those needs.
Today, businesses using Roomex can:
- Book accommodation in just two clicks
- Access more than 2 million hotels and serviced apartments with negotiated business rates
- Book rail travel alongside accommodation from one platform
- Set custom travel policies and approval workflows
- Eliminate out-of-pocket expenses
- Manage group bookings and project mobilisation
- Automatically track accommodation emissions through our Carbon Reporting service
- Identify additional savings opportunities with Roomex Insights Pro, using real booking behaviour and comparable room analysis
- Access dedicated customer support whenever travel plans change
For businesses managing workforce travel, that means less administration, greater visibility and more control over every booking.
One of the reasons this award is particularly meaningful is because partnership forms part of the judging criteria.
Technology is important.
But successful travel programmes depend just as much on the people behind them.
Our customer success and support teams work closely with businesses every day to solve problems that software alone can’t.
That could mean helping relocate an entire workforce after a project delay.
Finding accommodation during periods of limited availability.
Supporting complex group bookings.
Or helping customers uncover new ways to reduce travel spend through better reporting and insights.
That’s the kind of partnership we’ve always wanted Roomex to be known for.
Every improvement we’ve made over the past year has started with customer conversations.
Your feedback has shaped new features, influenced our roadmap and challenged us to keep improving.
We’re incredibly grateful to every customer who has trusted Roomex with their workforce travel.
This recognition belongs to you as much as it does to us.
We’re honoured to be shortlisted alongside:
- arrangeMY
- DGI
- Inntel
- Key Travel
- Selective Travel Management
Congratulations to everyone recognised across this year’s awards. The strength of this year’s shortlist reflects the continued innovation taking place across the managed travel industry.
The winners of the Business Travel Awards Europe 2026 will be announced on 30 September, and we’re looking forward to celebrating with colleagues, customers and fellow finalists.
Whatever the outcome, being recognised by an independent panel of industry experts is something we’re incredibly proud of.
More importantly, it motivates us to keep improving.
We’re continuing to invest in smarter reporting, better booking experiences, stronger customer support and new ways to help businesses manage workforce travel more efficiently.
Because that’s what matters most.
Good travel policies only work if people follow them.
When bookings happen across multiple websites and payment methods, enforcing policy becomes difficult.
Roomex allows businesses to upload their travel policy directly into the platform.
Approvals, daily budgets and traveller permissions can all be customised before bookings are confirmed.
That means finance doesn’t need to identify policy breaches after money has already been spent.
Instead, policy is built into the booking process from the start.
It creates a stronger audit trail while reducing disputes and exceptions later.
Whether you’re managing accommodation for five engineers or coordinating hundreds of workers across multiple projects, Roomex is designed to make workforce travel simpler.
From accommodation and rail booking to carbon reporting, spend visibility and Insights Pro, everything sits within one platform – supported by a team that understands the realities of managing mobile workforces.
